WORK TO WEEKEND SLIP DRESS

Say “hello” to the new me! Kidding, haha. I just feel like a new me with the shorter hair. It honestly makes me feel more like a “boss babe” and more sophisticated. Actually, just wearing a “boss babe” workwear outfit everyday would probably make me feel more productive too.

Satin Slip Dress: Work to Weekend

Typically, my workwear posts are about how to style an item several different ways for the office. But recently, I had a follower ask me for some work-to-weekend ideas. So today I’m sharing how to take this satin slip dress from Banana Republic from the office to “Casual Friday” to a date night out!

Let’s start with the office outfit first… Obviously this dress is a little too scandalous to wear to the office by itself. So, we need to add something over it. You could easily wear a blazer or jacket with it no problem. I’d wear a belt with the blazer too. However, since it’s still winter I decided a sweater over the dress would be cuter. This white sweater is a bit boxy so I just tied it in an easy knot. Didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do!

Moving into “casual Friday” at the office nobody would know this was the same “skirt” you wore earlier in the week, right? A white denim jacket and fun snake print booties take the entire outfit down a notch, but still super cute. Duh. You can see here how I added the belt to give the dress some more structure. You could totally do a regular denim jacket with this outfit too, but I prefer the white as we move into spring.

Okay, time for the weekend (and a cocktail…is it 5 o’ clock yet?)! Now you can show off the gorgeous low cut back on this dress with the adjustable string ties. I didn’t think about it until now, but you could criss cross the straps in the back too. I think this dress would be so gorgeous for a spring wedding guest dress. It comes in white and a rust color too! I like black accessories with this satin slip dress, but you could do a nude strappy sandal or fun animal print.

P.S. I was able to wear sticky boob/petals with this dress no problem!
